LangState is an early Python framework for representing uncertain, inferred application state alongside a resolved business state. It provides state data structures, schema extraction, mutation and projection contracts, evaluation helpers, and storage interfaces for systems that collect structured data through natural interaction.
LangState is a source-only alpha. There is no LangState release to install from PyPI, and the langstate name on PyPI belongs to an unrelated project. Start with Installation and a pinned source checkout.

Documentation baseline

These pages describe repository version 0.1.0 source alpha, pinned to commit df40bc49bc8e3a51b2bb695b30ff93ef81b2cc4b. The documented verification command passes 628 tests at that commit.

Choose a starting point

Run the verified checkout

Install the pinned source and reproduce the package test baseline.

Create state from OpenAPI

Exercise the concrete schema reader and state implementations.

Understand the two states

Distinguish candidate-rich interpretive state from resolved canonical state.

Check implementation status

See what is concrete, abstract, experimental, or unavailable as a release.

Documentation boundaries

The Documentation tab describes behavior observable in the pinned source. The Design Notes tab preserves useful rationale and forward-looking patterns, but those pages are not promises that the complete behavior is implemented. For a source-level map, see Imports. For contribution and drift-prevention rules, see Documentation maintenance.
